Peacefully at Braemar Retirement Centre, Wingham on Friday November 3, 2006, William Frederick (Fred) Howson (former President of Howson and Howson Ltd. ) formerly of Blyth, Ontario in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Margaret (Orvis) Howson (May 2006). Loving father of Jim and Esther Howson of Bayfield, Bill and Susan Howson, Doug and Barb Howson and Bruce and Candice Howson all of Blyth, Ann and Bob Crawford of Wingham, Mary Arthur of Goderich and Margaret and Brian Craig of St. Jacobs. Cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Hazel Taylor, Ross and Edna Orvis, Jack and Norma Orvis and Bill and Arlene Orvis. Predeceased by one brother, Ross Howson and his wife Isabelle. Friends will be received at the Blyth Visitation Centre of the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 407 Queen Street Blyth on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Wingham United Church, 217 Minnie Street, Wingham, Ontario on Monday November 6, 2006 at 1 p.m. Interment Blyth Union Cemetery. Donations to Gideon's International, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
