New HT seats (and action shots), and Planet Earth

Tina from work lent me "Planet Earth" on DVD. Here are a few action shots of the kids in the new HT chairs. We got a set of 4 Coaster Studio reclining leather seats.

99% Done - Home Theater / Rec Room

screen area of HT room. Screen is 120" framed with a 3" Velvet border with a 45 degree chamfered inside edge. Lolly column on Left still has to be boxed in.

Entertainment unit / stand for new Paradigm CC-290 cost $33 for materials. Still needs to be primed and painted.

All doors are Masonite (Safe and Sound) Solid Doors. Independent Lumber yards have these on sale for considerably cheaper than Orange box. I paid about $100 for each 32" door.

Basement Reno's - Child Labour is a great way to save money!


So close to the end.....

Walls Framed,
Sound Insulation in
Sound Clips and Hat Channelling installed.
80 Sheets of Drywall Hung
Viscous Damping Compound applied
Drywall mudded, sanded
Primed and Painted
Electrical in

2 Doors in (2nd one went in way nicer than the 1st.)

Casing painted......

maybe another few weeks of child labour, and it'll be done.... Who says basement renos have to be expensive?

68 sheets of drywall = 4278lbs

68 sheets of drywall were delivered to our house today....

38 sheets of 1/2" drywall
30 sheets of 5/8th" drywall

8 neighbors helped us bring it in to the basement this morning.....
The drywall came in 2 piles... the 2nd pile is still on the truck

A little break from the Basement Renovations...


Took the kids out for a short snowmobile ride around town and to visit Julie's Uncle Brian..... In the middle of the snowstorm..... Brianna's had 3 snowdays so far in one Calendar week of school, and it might be a snowday tomorrow!
